Obituary of William Gardiner Champion
William “Bill” G. Champion, 64, Banning, CA resident of 27 years, passed away on May 3, 2015. He was born to his parents William Jack Champion and Alice Mae Emholtz Champion on October 12, 1950. He was a resident of Beloit, WI for 36 years graduating from High School in 1969; attended 2 years of college, later moving to Banning, CA in 1987. Bill was a millright and jack of all trades. He had a hardcore work ethic, never letting the grass grow under his feet and in turn would share his skills with you if you had an open mind and wanted to learn. He was involved with the Fraternity Order of Eagles. Bill had a Heart of Gold and would literally give the shirt off his back.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Colleen Champion of Banning, CA; sons, William Michael Champion of Menominee Falls, WI, Daniel (DJ) Champion and Robert (Bobby) Champion both of Banning, CA; brothers, Robert (Linda) Champion, Roady (Nancy) Champion and Richard Champion all of Beloit, WI; sisters, Wendy (Rick) Lee of Beloit, WI, Kay (William) Duarte of Ventura, CA, Lori (Dennis) Katterhenry & Kari Champion both of Beloit, WI; brother-in-law, Brad Davies of Beloit, WI. Bill is further survived by several nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, two uncles, one aunt and many cousins throughout the U.S. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Jack and Alice Mae Champion and sister, Barbara Davies all of Beloit, WI.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00p.m., Wed., May 13, 2015 at Wiefels & Son Memorial Chapel, 50 E. Nicolet St., Banning, CA.
