When ever we went to visit Mary Lu in her new apartment when ever Maddie,Katie, and I said hi to introduce our selves She would always think im Katie, Maddy was me and that Katie was Maddy. But at the end she figured it all out and we had a good laugh. We love you grandma R.I.P -Charlie Bogh

I have many fun and wonderful memories about my Aunt Mary Lu. One of my favorite was a few years ago when she still lived in Encinitas CA. I flew to CA to visit my sister Jane and we went up to take Mary Lu to lunch. Jane let us out and went to park the car so we hurried right up to the menu that was posted on the outside of the restaurant. We were both standing very close to it peering at the words when Jane walked up and asked us if it looked like they had some good specials. Mary Lu and I in unison said, "We don't know we can't see it. So Jane politely told us to get out of the way so she could look at it. We laughed so hard and couldn't stop laughing during lunch to think that the two sight impaired women thought they needed to read the menu. It was a great lunch and a great time!

Sorry for your loss. Through Jane I felt like I really knew Mari Lu and what a dynamic, wonderful woman she was. One of a kind.....My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I am very saddened by the loss of your mother and our friend. She was a very special and unique lady. I find comfort in the fact that she is no longer in pain, and is now in the hands of the Lord. I have spent the last few days thinking of Aunt Mary Lu. Just saying Aunt Mary Lu brings a fondness to my heart and I find myself smiling. Of course she was not my Aunt but I loved her as one. The picture in my mind is always of her with that wonderful smile that warmed you, with a twinkle in her eyes. I always felt that she loved to be up to mischief. It is a great memory and I cherish it. I am thinking of you and sending my love.

I am honored and privileged to have known Mary Lu for more than 40 years. She was intelligent, insightful, and possessed a sharp wit, right to the end. And she was mother to some very classy kids!
