Obituary of Ralph Moore
Ralph Tignal Moore, 79, died peacefully in his own home on March 22, 2011. Born December 25,1931 in Naylor, Missouri to Ralph and Cleo (Bowman) Moore; he was a man of honor, and a true gentleman. When Ralph put his mind to something, he accomplished it.
Ralph served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, which ignited his love of world traveling. He and his loving wife of 33 years, Alicia, were long-time residents of Moorpark, CA where Ralph perfected a magnificent Japanese garden in their own backyard. Six years ago they relocated to a beautiful home on Solara golf course in Beaumont, CA where Ralph enjoyed endless hours working on his golf game.
Coined by his grandchildren as "The Most Interesting Man Alive," he truly was a man of many talents. An icon in the he hair industry, he was employed as a barber, educator, platform artist, paved the way for top cosmetic manufactures, and owned both beauty salons and beauty supply stores. He was an excellent finish carpenter, an artist and musician, enjoyed family sailing trips, broke horses, and even did his share of bull-fighting in Mexico. Additionally, Ralph was actively involved in Clan Gordon & other Scottish Societies, was the Secretary of the Scottish Knights Templar, served in the Masonic Lodge as a Worshipful Master, was the Director of the Seaside Highland's Scottish Games, served on the Privy Council Board as the Treasurer, the Priory of Robert the Bruce's Board as Preceptor of the Preceptory of the Isles, and was recognized as a Worthy Patron in the Order of the Eastern Star. Alongside those, he was a man of wisdom. A man filled with love, humor, kindness, and wit. A man who would so generously share his life-experiences, stories, words, lessons, and passion of life with all. A man who was so highly respected, and who will so greatly be missed.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Alicia; mother, Cleo Bowman; sister, Peggy Bededa; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Ray Entzel; daughter and son-in-law, Jone' and Glenn Buchan; son, Craig Moore; step-son, John Darin McGonigal; 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
