Obituary of Sven Jacobson

Age 73 and Banning resident for one year, passed away at Loma Linda VA Hospital on June 28, 2010. Sven was born on November 16, 1936 in Monmouth, IL to his parents, Harlard Bertal Albert and Nita Evelyn Jacobson. Sven served in the U.S. Navy, BM2 E-5, and retired after 20 years with an Honorable Discharge, Vietnam Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal/with Device 1960. Shortly after he went to work for Stop & Go Markers as the Manager and was employed for 10 years. He was also employed by United Church Homes as a Manager/Maintenance for 3 years. Sven is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol Jacobson of Beaumont, CA; daughters, Evelyn Douglas of Banning, CA, Shellmarie R. Garrett of San Diego, CA, Carol L. Patty of Stockton, CA; sons, Sven N. Jacobson, Jr. of Banning, CA, John H. Jacobson of Elk Grove, CA, Stephen E. Jacobson of Garfield Heights, OH; sister, Nita Chewning of Burlington, TX; brothers, Robert Jacobson of San Bernardino, CA, Sonny Jacobson of Homeland, CA; sons-in-law, Steven Douglas of Banning, CA, James Garrett of San Diego, CA, Joseph Patty of Stockton, CA; daughters-in-law, Tina Jacobson, Lisa Jacobson; sisters-in-law, Sharin Bain of Lansing, MI, Marilyn Jacobson of Dallas, OR, Paula Harrison of Big Bear, CA, Barbara Jacobson of Salem, OR, Linda Rodriguez of San Bernardino, CA; 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; friend of 47 years, Terrie Barrie of Fontana, CA; granddaughter, Onoalyse Norvell.
