Obituary of Marion Bainbridge

Marion "Shorty" Bainbridge, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center. Marion "Shorty" Bainbridge was born March 12, 1929 in Boon, Michigan to Flossie and Noyes Bainbridge. He served his country in the United States Army and eventually made California his home. He worked for over 30 years as a Groundsman for LaHabra City School District and was known as a kind and hard working man. He was married to his loving wife and best friend, Joan Bainbridge, for 56 years during which time they had 3 daughters. Shorty and Joan spent most of their time together and enjoyed vacations to see family and friends. He dedicated himself tirelessly to his family and friends making sure that all was right in their world. There was never a person he met that did not become a friend. He will be fondly remembered for his loving kindness, willingness to help others, generous spirit, contagious laughter, and his "unique" way with words. He had a love deeper than even his own words could express and was a precious gift to us all. He will live on in his humor as it is passed on from each of his loved ones. Shorty is survived by his wife Joan Bainbridge; his sister Dorothy in Michigan; his daughters Kathy (Don), Christy (Jeff), and Robin (Charles); 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. - Frye
