Obituary of Rodolfo Lopez
Rodolfo Lopez passed 04/19/2010 at the Loma Linda Va Hospital. He was born 07/04/1923 in San Antonio, TX.
He graduated from Silsbee High School in Silsbee, TX.
He served for 3 years as a Corporal in the Army Air Force during WWII as Fire Fighter 383, receiving the American Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.
He did Pool construction, Layout-shape, steel, gunite, building pools in the Desert-Mexico, Las Vegas and San Diego. Building block walls, stone walls also waterfalls and flat cement work.
He also did maintenance work on 4 water wells in Cathedral City, Perris, CA, Henderson, NV, Boulder City, NV., for a company out of Costa Mesa, CA.
Pops was the best. He loved all of us including the teddy bears. He always made our friends welcome and feel like a part of the family. In our hearts and minds he was one of the greatest men whom ever lived. He was strong and urged us never give up and to never be afraid. We are all so privileged to have been a part of his life. We all carry a part of him and our mother Amparo with pride and admiration.
He is survived by Rodolfo (Sony) Lopez, son of Piru, CA, Richard Michael Lopez, son, Palm Desert, CA.; Linda Norte, daughter, Martin Lopez, son, Nancy Olvera, daughter, Monica Lopez, daughter all of Banning, CA. 15 grandchildren, 30 great grand children 5 great- great grandchildren.
He was preceded by his son George Leonard Lopez and his wife Amparo Lopez.
Services are Thursday 7PM Rosary Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church
Mass 10am Friday 04/23/2010 at Blessed Kateri with burial to follow at San Gorgonio Memorial Park in Banning.
