Peggy was more to me (Sheri) than just my aunt; she was like a sister to me and at times a mom. I remember when I was 13, she let me drive her sports car,we couldn't decide if "overdrive" meant it went faster or not,so of course, I went faster! After her divorce from Ron, she lived with me in San Diego until she found her own place and we spent our Sundays in So. Mission Beach hitting the bar scene together, we were close friends at that time, she needed someone who wouldnt judge her decision to get divorced and just be there for her. When she married Bill, I was shocked as Bill was the classic batchelor and let everyone know he would never marry but Peggy won him over. We had great fun going to Lake Havasu in the summers, Peggy was a trouper and water skied right up on the beach, landed on her tummy and skidded about 20 feet. She was a great sport about it and we all had a good laugh the entire trip at her expense!! Life is a roller coaster ride and the ups and downs can be exhillerating or devastating. When she was diagnosed with cancer, I knew her ride was limited and prayed for strength to see it through with her. She amazed me at her strength, her grace in accepting the inevitable and how she lived her life to the fullest trying to inhale every precious moment. When Ralph and I were married in Maui, I was so happy she and Bill came. We had a great time going to Hana, we swam in the pools at the bottom of the waterfalls, Peggy outwalked us all and it was a day with her I will always cherish. I know she is in Heaven, now with her entire family, Grandpa Leonard, Grandmother Helen, my Mom,Pauline and Uncle Don. They all had challenges in life but in death, found victory in Christ. I pray that everyone who knew my family accepts Jesus Christ as the Son of God and will have the eternal life granted to us,not by what we have achieved in life but simply accepting what Jesus has done for us all by his death on the cross, his resurrection from the grave and his ascension to heaven as a template for all to follow. It is this belief that allows me the sure knowledge that I will see Peggy and all that have gone before her again. I pray that each person who knew Peggy and saw the strength of Christ in her latter life will also make the same committment to Christ as she did. God Bless our family and friends in this time of mourning her death as we all miss her. Love to all, Sheri,Heather,Ralph,Louise
