Obituary of Donald Becerra

Age, 46 resident of Hemet, Ca for 17 years, formerly of Banning for 18 years, passed away Sept. 29, 2009. Donald was born Jan. 13, 1963. He graduated from Banning High School in 1981. Donald served 11 years in the U.S Navy; 4 years, USS Kitty Hawk; 2 years naval Amphibious Base in Coronado; 1 year Naval and Station Whidbey Island. He received many letters of appreciation and commendations from the commanding officer Naval Amphibious Base in Coronado. 1 Special letter from the Office in Charge of the U.S. Naval Mobile Battalion 23 for finding room/board for 65 personnel that were forced from their deployment site in Alaska to Whidbey Island. He showed up unexpectedly "MS3 Becerra went out of his way to assist and direct us. His efforts were commendable and greatly appreciated." He was a huge UCLA Bruin fan with his dad and sister, he would go back and forth with his brothers, Douglas and Dennis, who are USC Trojan Fans when one team would beat the other. He was a well known Hemet School District volunteer at his son's and daughter's schools and a member of the PTA as well. At the Senior Year Winter Awards he was so proud that he won "Most Inspiration" waking his 'lil brother up to show it off. He always talked about his high school friends and fellow football team mates to the end. Donald is survived by his son, Donald Jr., of Hemet; daughter, Emily of Hemet; father and mother, David and Julia of Banning; brothers, David George (Diana) of Brea, Daniel ( Juanita), Douglas and Dennis, all of Banning; sister, Delia of Cabazon; nieces and nephews, Daniel Andrea James, Michael Don, Chereè, Alex, Antonio, Laura, Angela, AJ, Melissa, Cynthia and Alisha; great-nephews, Christian, Owen and Andrew David; great-niece, Arianny. Vigil and Rosary were held on Oct. 5, 2009 at Wiefels & Son Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Oct. 6, 2009, Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, Banning, with burial immediately following at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA. Arrangements entrusted to Wiefels & Son Mortuary, Banning.
