Obituary of William Martin

William Martin passed away Saturday, August 1, 2009. A commemorative service will be held Friday, August 14th, 11:00 am at New Life Christian Fellowship 24551 Ironwood Blvd, Moreno Valley, California. Internment will follow at the National Cemetery, Riverside, California. Bill was born on January 24, 1926 in Hollister, California. He was the youngest of three children. A sister, Helen, and a brother, Eddie, preceded him in death. He served as a seaman first class in the Navy during World War II. After separation from the Navy he married, Virginia Allbritton. For over sixty years, they enjoyed a marriage marked by love, friendship and teamwork. He worked for Ideal cement plant in San Juan Batista, California and Pacific Coast Aggregates, in Davenport, California until retirement. Bill and Virginia served many years as youth pastors for their church. He shared his zest for life with many young people and impacted their lives. Bill is survived by his wife, Virginia Martin, Brother and Sister in-law Dale and Madge Webb, his son William Martin, Jr, wife Faythe, and Daughter Gail Brauker, husband Glen, adopted daughter Leora Thomas, Grandchildren, Lacey Redmon, husband Jon Loren Martin, Jeremy Brauker, Danielle Masters, husband Matthew, Great grandchildren, Kaden Masters, Lynae Redmon, Nephew Ben Higbie, Jr, wife Marilyn, son Jeffrey, Danny Webb and Tim Webb, Nieces Cheryl Pottherst, Son Douglas, and Anna Marie Medina, husband Fred, daughter Ashley.
