Obituary of Gavin Gray

Gavin O. Gray, 85, a California native and long time resident of Banning passed away on Monday September 8, 2008 with his family at his bedside. He died of complications of a long time battle with Parkinson's disease. He was a World War II veteran where he was involved in the war in North Africa and Italy. His passions in life were family, friends, camping, and horses. He was a member of the Masons for over 60 years and a volunteer for Riverside County RACES, he enjoyed being part of the HAM radio community. Gavin is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Lois M. Gray, his daughter Pamela D. Newcomb and her husband Robert Newcomb, of Carlsbad CA., his son Gary L. Gray, and his wife Joan Gray of Idyllwild, and his grandson, Daniel R. Gray and his wife Margaret Gray of Ventura CA., and grandson Matthew L. Gray, of Denver CO and his partner Lindsay McNicholas. A memorial service will be held at the Veterans National Cemetery in Riverside at 10 am Friday September 12, 2008. A celebration of his life will immediately follow the services.
