Obituary of Sara Serrano
SARA TORRES SERRANO
Age, 91, passed away in Banning, CA on Aug. 6, 2013. She was born on Nov. 3, 1921 in El Paso, TX, and was a resident of Cabazon, CA for 17 years, previously of Compton, CA for 14 years, Paramount, CA for 14 years, Fontana, CA for 8 years. She graduated from Gardena High School, and was a retired press operator at Steward F. Cooper. She was a member of the Woman's Auxiliary at Sacred Heart Church, was PTA president, A Boy Scouts of America mom, a member of the Rosary Society, and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Morongo Reservation in Cabazon, CA.
Sara was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She had a marvelous sense of humor, attended countless Native American Pow Wows, where she danced in full regalia. She is survived by her daughter Maryann Benavidez of Cabazon, CA; sons Thomas R. Serrano SR., of Cabazon, CA, and Michael Harte of San Marcos, CA; 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; and special friends Magdalena Rangel and Teri Mau. She was preceded in death by her son Edward John Serrano of Cabazon, CA, and granddaughter, Angela SABRINA Serrano of Compton, CA.
Visitation: Thursday, AUG. 15, 2013, From 4-8pm; Rosary/Prayer Service at 7pm, both at Wiefels & Son, 50 E. Nicolet St., Banning,CA; Funeral Service: Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 at Following Church Service, San Gorgonio Memorial Park, Banning, CA.
