Obituary of John Richardson

J.R. was born in West Virginia on May 9, 1949. He passed away on November 17, 2011 at the V.A. Medical Center in Loma Linda, CA. He fought a valiant battle against lung cancer caused by his exposure to Agent Orange during his tour in Vietnam. J.R. is survived by his loving wife of forty-one years, Cyndy (O'Brien); three daughters, Elizabeth Peters of Banning, Becca Lovell of Beaumont, and Samantha Grunewald of Beaumont; four son-in-laws, Robert Peters, Clarke Lovell, Kevin Grunewald and Chris Hirt; eight grandchildren, Paige, Jonathon, William and Reagan Peters, Christopher John (C.J.) Hirt and Niki Lovell, Tabitha and Ryan Grunewald. His family moved to the Banning area in the late 1950's. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, and proud patriot. He was a self-employed painting contractor (Richardson Painting) in the pass area for over forty years. John enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing poker and spending time at his vacation home at the Colorado River. His greatest joy was spending time with his Grandchildren. Whether it was taking them to the movie theatre, donut shop or just having them spend the night at his house. Above all, he loved his family and will be missed beyond measure. Services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at Stewart Sunnyslope Cemetery, located at 40 South Pennsylvania Ave in Beaumont. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to woundedwarriorproject.org.
