St. John Missionary Baptist Church
St. John Missionary Baptist Church 825 Newhall Street San Francisco, California 94124 415-826-5639 Reverend Mervin J. Redmond, Sr. Resolution from the St. John Missionary Baptist Church Wednesday, January 9, 2008 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. John 5:24 (NKJV) We offer this resolution on behalf of Pastor Redmond, Sr., and members of the St. John Church Family in memory of a faithful Christian First Lady, Sister Rosie Prior. She was blessed by God to live beyond the bible’s promise of three scores and ten years. She was blessed to be the primary caregiver for her husband, Pastor J.P. Prior. Now, she is resting from her labors. Whereas, Sister Rosie Prior united with the St. John Missionary Baptist church and became our First Lady when her late husband, Reverend J. P. Prior became our Pastor in June 1986. She was active in the Women’s Missionary Ministry and the Children’s Ministry. Sister Prior taught in our Vacation Bible School and she loved working in the children’s ministry at St. John, in the Progressive Missionary Baptist Educational District Association and in the California State Baptist Association. And whereas, Sister Rosie Prior enjoyed the simple life, she was a loyal, respected and honorable human being. She always encouraged young people and helped them in any way she could. Sister Rosie Prior loved her husband, her family, her Church family and her home. She was her husband’s rose. Be it resolved that a humble lovable Christian woman who served mankind in the best manner that she knew has passed from death into eternal life. St. John is praying for you. We want Sister Rosie Prior’s Family to have this resolution in memory of her contributions. Also a copy will be kept in our Church’s permanent files as a testimony of a life blessed by God. To God be all of the glory and honor. “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches and loving favor rather than silver or gold. Proverbs 22:1 “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV) Prayerfully submitted, St. John Missionary Baptist Church Members Dr. Irene D. Lewis, Church Clerk Pastor Mervin J. Redmond, Sr.
