Obituary of Richard Motts

Richard Henry Motts, (Rich to one and all) left this earth November the 29,2012 in his 66th year here on earth. Rich was born in Altadena California on November the 11, 1946. He was an 11 year resident of Landers, California. Rich grew up in the Arcadia area and was a graduate of Arcadia High School in 1964 where he was a member of the Rifle Team, Ham Operators Club and other organizations. He attended Pasadena City College and Cal Poly Pomona. He spent his life in the electronics, automotive industry and finished out his career with Allen Test Products as a District Sales Manager. In retirement he moved to Landers and pursued his love of fabrication of off road vehicle and equipment. He was an avid off roader supporting many agencies for those purposes. He was one of the co-founders of High Desert Four Wheel Drive based in of Yucca Valley . He is preceded in death by his parents Lucile and John Motts from Arcadia. He is survived by his wife Debbi from Landers, step daughters Maggie Moss and Amy Cannon, goddaughter Mickayla Gonzales (all from Banning California) and a step son, Blue Hawk Gonzales from Roseville California. He is also survived by his two beloved dogs Sabrina and Shadow. Rich was known by many for his quick wit, unusual collection of 4x4 vehicles, his dry sense of humor, and his ability see a purpose then find the materials to fabricate the tools needed to turn his vision into a reality. He loved living in the desert, working in his garages and of course his dogs. A Celebration Memorial of his life will be held at his home in Landers on Saturday December the 8th, 2012 at 2 pm. 56351 Reche Rd.
