Obituary of Walter Burnam

Walter, 81, passed away in his Huntington Beach home on November 13, 2012. He was born to his parents Walter Roy and Agnes LoylaBelle Burnham on July 14, 1931 in Long Beach, Calif. Walter attended Huntington Beach High School and was part of the graduating class of 1949. As a young man, Walter served in the Navy, where he accepted the Lord as his Savior. He attended First Assembly of God Church in Garden Grove, where he met the mother of his 3 children, Julie, Jeni & Jeff. He was a partner in Atlantic Steel Western in South Gate, Calif. for many years. During this time he met and fell in love with Sandra Flann and her son, Michael Meoli. After he retired, he became an independent consultant for the steel industry. Walt loved life. He loved to laugh, play jokes on unsuspecting loved ones and to spend time with family, friends and Vito, his beloved dog. As a young man he enjoyed tennis and bow hunting. He was an avid fisherman all his life. He also enjoyed cooking as much as he enjoyed eating good food. Walt will be greatly missed by those whose lives were touched by him. Walter is survived by his wife, Sandra Lee Meoli Burnam of Newport Beach, Calif.; mother-in-law, Josephine Conney of Newport Beach, Calif., son, Mike (Erin) Meoli of Newport Beach, Calif., daughters, Jeni (Chris) McCallum of Banning, Calif., Julie (Richard) Millican of Mississippi; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents Agnes & Roy Burnham; son, Jeff Burnam; brother, Richard Burnam; grandson, Vasily Banos.
