Obituary of Martha Law

Martha Mae Law was born on October 17, 1917 to Easter Townsen Brown and William Brown in Carthage, Texas. She is one of nine children born under this union. She was known endearingly by family and friends as "Chumpy". Sister Martha met the love of her life William Gene Law and married him on February 18, 1943 in Santa Cruz, California. She was a loving and devoted wife to William until he was called home to glory on February 9, 2003. To this union there were two children born, Billy Gene Law and Patricia Ann Law Johns. In 1955, she and her family moved to Banning, California. She was a homemaker, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. After uniting with First Missionary Baptist Church, she served faithfully until she was no longer able to do so. Sister Martha leaves to cherish in her memory, son, Billy G. Law and his wife Betty; daughter, Patricia A. Johns and her husband Nathan of Banning, CA; grandchildren Kelly G. Law and his wife Teresa of Moreno Valley, CA; Tara N. Johns and Eric D. Law of Banning, CA; and great-grandchildren Kelly Law II, Eric Law, Jr., Asia Law, Eunique McDonald Law, Ja'Quell Law, Taylor Miller, Trey Law and Heaven Law In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Sister Martha spent many precious moments with her eleven grandchildren and great-grandchildren before she died on November 24, 2007. She lived 90 wonderful years and those who were blessed to know her will cherish the memories they have with her in their hearts. Well done thy good and faithful servant, we shall see you again in that great gettin' up morning, fare thee well Sister Martha.
