Obituary of Rachel Lynne Garcia
Rachel Lynne Torres Garcia, 34, passed away at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, CA on February 7, 2017. Rachel was born on April 27, 1983 to her parents Raymond & Brenda Torres. She was raised on the Morongo Indian Reservation and was a member of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. After graduating from Banning High School she attended Crafton Hills College. Rachel was a Christian and attended Church 212 in Bermuda Dunes, CA.
Rachel had a deep love for her family and friends. She was an amazing wife & mother. She lit up the room with her smile; her laugh was contagious.
Rachel is survived by her parents, Raymond & Brenda Torres; her husband, Jacob Garcia; sons, Steven Cannady Garcia, Sato Garcia, Miyaxwen Garcia, Hondo Garcia, Jr.; daughters, Daizy Garcia & Jasmin Garcia all of Indio, CA; grandmother, Jean Nelson of Morongo Indian Reservation, Banning, CA; many extended family members and friends.
A visitation will be held at Wiefels & Son Mortuary, Banning, CA, Friday, February 16, 2018, 4-8pm with prayer service at 6pm. Celebration of Life will be at the Morongo Community Center, Saturday, February 17, 2018, 10am with Burial to follow at the Morongo Tribal Cemetery on the Morongo Indian Reservation, Banning, CA.
