Obituary of Margaret Garcia
Age 78, passed away on July 28, 2012 in her Banning home. She was born in San Bernardino, Ca on February 22, 1934 to Albert B. and Sofia O. Martinez. She grew up in Colton, CA (25years) and attended Colton High School (grade 9). She was a homemaker. Margaret gave to many charities, including the Cancer Society, City of Hope, St. Jude Children's Hospital and many catholic relief charities. She was also an Oakland Raiders fan.
Margaret is survived by step daughters, Maria E. Garcia and Rosalie Munoz, both of Banning, CA; sons, Anthony Torranto of Colton, CA, Victor A. Garcia, of Riverside, CA, Gerard Garcia of Beaumont, CA, Andrew Garcia of Banning, CA, Gary Garcia of Banning, CA and Albert Garcia of Beaumont, CA; daughters Mona Prelesnik of Santa Maria, CA and Delilah Shields of Arvada, CO; brothers, Robert Martinez of Grand Terrace, CA and John Martinez of Lucerne Valley, CA; sisters Irene Valenzuela of Colton, Ca and Yolanda Wengen of Highland, CA and Linda Tomayo of Colton, CA; 30 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Sophia Martinez; husband, Victor M. Garcia and step-son, Mike Mitchell.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012 from 4-8pm; Rosary at 7pm at Wiefels & Son Mortuary in Banning. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012 at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Banning. Burial will be at 11:45 at Hermosa Memorial Cemetery in Colton.
