Obituary of George Nordquist
George Arthur Nordquist, Sr. unexpectedly died on Friday Jan. 20th, 2017, and he is now home with his Beloved Father in heaven. He was 76. He is survived by his wife Dora; brother Lloyd (Lynda); son Art (Denise) and grandchildren Allison, Anderson, Miranda, and Amber; daughter Sonja (Jay) and grandchildren Tony and Chelsea; daughter Cathy (Lloyd) and grandchildren Nylah, Aidan, and Addison. George was born in Clinton, Iowa, and came to Banning in 1949, living here most of his life. He graduated from Banning High School in 1959 and married Dora Dysart in 1960. He careered in banking for ten years, and then built Mountain Air Mobile Home Estates with his brother Lloyd. He served on the Laura Mae Stewart Fund and the Chamber of Commerce as Board Member and later as President. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Banning for about 50 years, then Trinity EV Free Church of Redlands, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Palm Springs, Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Yucaipa, and recently attended Calvary Chapel in Redlands. Service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28th, at 1:00 p.m. at Wiefels & Son Mortuary in Banning.
