Obituary of Luciano Lomas Olvera
Luciano Lomas Olvera, 87, passed away on January 11, 2017 in Banning, CA. Luciano was born to his parents Magdaleno and Sara L. Olvera on January 8, 1930. As a youth he was MVP Player in baseball; he achieved loving all the women of the world (HaHa), but the love of his life remained his ‘55 Chevy. Luciano was Catholic and attended Precious Blood. He worked as a Cement Laborer in the City of Palm Springs and spent most of his time working as a mechanic for family and friends.
Luciano is survived by his brother Bobby Olvera of San Diego, CA; daughters, Debbie Olvera Meneses of San Bernardino, CA, Vera J. Olvera and Erlinda Miranda Olvera Grant both of Banning, CA; step-children, Patty Araujo, Sandra Lara, Lucia Garcia, Vera Flores & Darlene Lara; 7 grandchildren & 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Magdaleno & Sara Olvera of Banning, CA; sisters, Lola Olvera, Mickey Zavala, Ruby Moore all of Banning, CA, Annie Malone Buchmon & Pauline Palacios; brothers, Tony Olvera of Los Angeles, CA, John Olvera, Jesus Olvera of Banning, CA, Frank Olvera of San Bernardino, CA and step-child Andrew Lara of San Bernardino.
Services will take place at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church of Banning, CA on Friday, January 20, 2017, Viewing & Rosary at 10:00 a.m., Mass to start at 11:00 a.m., with burial immediately following at San Gorgonio Memorial Park of Banning, CA. Arrangements entrusted to Wiefels & Son Mortuary, Banning, CA.
