Obituary of William Keith Bangle
William Keith Bangle, 89 years old, passed away on Friday Sept. 2, 2016, in Banning, CA.
Keith was born July 1, 1927, in Mentone, CA. to parents Fred and Sophie Bangle. He and his twin sister Kathryn, were the youngest of 9 children. Keith joined the US Navy, during WWII, where he served aboard the battleship, USS New Jersey. Following an honorable discharge, he became a helper with Sunset Tile, earning the official title of “setter” in 1948. Keith continued in the profession, eventually becoming a tile contractor and starting his own business “Bangle Tile”. Tile setting was one of two careers he was passionate about. In 1957, Keith joined the Redlands Fire Department and worked his way up the ranks to an Engineer. His career with the fire department came to an abrupt end in 1981, when he was forced into an early retirement due to a heart attack. He continued to set tile, however, passing the tricks of the trade on to his sons Mike and Cleve, with Mike taking over “Bangle Tile” in 1986. Keith’s talent with tile is in many homes and businesses in the Inland Empire area. Keith had a passion for singing, playing guitar, doing crosswords and whistling, and he always had a joke to tell! He loved The Lord and he loved life.
Keith is survived by his sons Mike Bangle, and Cleve Bangle, his daughter Camille Hughes, twin sister Kathryn Pressy, 7 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marilyn, and his oldest grandson Rocky.
At Keith’s request, no services were held. Burial was private at Riverside National Cemetery on Sept. 9, 2016.
Forever in our hearts Dad. We love you.
