Obituary of Felix Samaniego
Tom "Felix" Samaniego , passed away at his home in Banning, CA on September 10, 2007 born December 29, 1933 in Sanford, AZ to Rose Calderon and Ralph Samaniego.
Felix graduated from Santa Cruz High School in Arizona, Palo Verde College and San Diego State where he majored in Industrial and Mechanical Arts. Felix was in the Army for over 3 years, he was also in the Army Reserves for 1 year. He was a member of the Catholic Church of Banning for 43 years where he served in many ministries:
A leader of the Coro Guadalupano where he sang and played guitar for many years, Cursillo Movement where he worked and played his guitar, He wrote many Gospel songs dedicated to Christ and our Lady of Guadalupe, Eucharistic Minister and also trained others. Felix served as an altar server even in the Army, and that is what lead him to train many children to be alter servers including his grandchildren, and his everlasting ministry was to give Bibles to anyone that wanted or needed one, Felix received a letter from American Bible Society many years ago when he had purchased 1000 Bibles. Felix leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Nancy Samaniego, Two brothers: Demetrio (Sam) Samaniego of Victorville and Jerry Samaniego of Loma Linda, Two Sisters: Rose Chacon of Hemet and Clara Rodriguez of Riverside, His Daughter Bernadette and husband Gary Hironimus and their children, Samantha, Anthony and Sabrina of Banning, His Son Tom Felix Samaniego Jr., grandson Tom Felix Samaniego III from Yucca Valley and granddaughter Carissa Schroeder of Oklahoma, His Daughter Renee and husband Dane Lundy of Morro Bay and their daughter Christina Samaniego of Berkeley California, His Son Paul and his wife Lanell Samaniego and their son Jonathan of Banning. And many Nieces and Nephews. His parents Rose Calderon and Ralph Samaniego preceded Felix in death. Visitation 4-7pm with a Rosary 7:00pm Thursday September 20, 2007, Mass 1:00pm Friday September 21, 2007 both at Blessed Kateri Tekawitha Church in Banning
