Obituary of Edward Beltron Lara

Edward Beltron Lara, AKA Beer & Ovidio, was born July 20, 1926 in Indio, California. He died peacefully at home in Banning surrounded by his extensive family on June 9, 2016 at the age of 89. He is preceded in death by his son Tomas (Zorro) Lara. Edward was raised by his parents, Cristobal, and Juanita Lara in Indio until his mother’s passing in 1932, he then moved to Banning and lived with the Villalpando family until 1946. On August 17, 1947 Edward married Teresa Gonzales. Together they raised their family in Banning. Edward leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Teresa, their 5 children, Juanita, Edward, Lillian, Raymond and John. He was the loving grandfather of 14, great-grandfather of 37, and great-great-grandfather of 4. Mr. Lara was a fine man, a true gentleman who set a wonderful and gracious example of how to be a proud man, a loving husband, great father, and grandfather. He loved gardening and was very proud of his three beautifully sculptured olive trees, which he nurtured for more than 50 years. His profession was concrete finishing for 40 years, retiring in 1988. Mr. Lara was loved and admired by many! Services for Edward Lara are scheduled for Monday, June 20, 2016 in the Catholic Church at 157 W Nicolet Street in Banning. 9:00 Rosary, 10:00 Funeral Mass, Burial at San Gorgonio Memorial cemetery following the Mass. Reception to follow at the church cafeteria.
