Obituary of Marion Brown Johnson

Marion B. Johnson, age 91, passed away on the morning of March 7, 2016 at her home in Beaumont, California. Marion was born on January 13, 1925 to Mitchell and Helena Brown in Harvey, Louisiana. She spent her early years in Harvey, Louisiana and later moved to Chicago, Illinois before moving to California where she spent the rest of her life in Banning, California. Marion earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and worked for Deutsch, an electronic manufacturing company, where she retired from after 35 years of service. Marion was involved in several community organizations including: Anthropal Women’s Club, San Gorgonio Child Care Consortium, Carol’s Kitchen, Banning Home Owner’s Association, and many more. She received numerous awards and achievements in the community and around Riverside County. Marion is survived by her sons Ron Johnson of Van Nuys, CA, Lurix “Skeet” Johnson of Denver, CO, and Norman Johnson of Banning, CA; her brother Oliver Brown of Pasadena, CA; her daughter-in-law (spouse of Ron) April Johnson of Van Nuys, CA; daughter-in-law (spouse of Lurix) Shirley Johnson of Denver, CO; daughter-in-law (spouse of Norman) Katherine Johnson of Banning, CA; sister-in-law (spouse of Oliver Brown) Juanita Brown of Pasadena, CA; and sister-in-law Delores Brown of Maryland. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, and several extended family and loving friends. Marion was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Edward Johnson; her son Stanley Johnson; Her parents Mitchell and Helena Brown; and her siblings Mitchel Brown, Aurther Brown, and Rose Brown. Marion was loved and admired by many. Her caring nature touched the hearts of everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her. Her pure kindness and willingness to help others will continue to be an inspiration to us all. The family asks that your forever keep her in your hearts and to keep her memory alive by sharing and spreading compassion in your daily lives. Thank you to everyone who loved Mrs. Marion B. Johnson.
