Obituary of David Lee Krohn
It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the passing of David L. Krohn, who passed away on Sunday, December 13th, at Riverside Community Hospital as the result of a heart attack.
Dave is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna, two children: David and Daniel, his two daughters-in-laws, Melissa and Kathy. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Elizabeth Wood, Thomas Wood, Andrew Wood, and Thomas Krohn. His siblings, Shirley Miller, Carol Welch, and Roy Krohn Jr., and his mother-in-law, Clara Overbeck.
David is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals during his valiant military services. He grew up in Massachusetts and California, the seventh child of Raymond and Hazel Krohn who have preceded him in death. As a young man of 17, he began working for the phone company before serving in the Vietnam War and then returning to finish out 30 years at the phone company before retiring. His success while working at the phone company can be directly attributed to his amazing work ethic and his natural leadership abilities. His attention to details was intense and he took tremendous pride in the quality of his work.
He spent his retirement years RVing with his best friend and love of his life and his doxies.
He served one year with distinction as a specialist in Vietnam, assisting in the deployment and maintenance of critical communication lines.
Services will be held at Riverside National Cemetery and he will be interred in the columbarium with full military honors.
