Obituary of Elroy D. Niemi
Born on 11/13/1928 passed from this life on 9/17/2015. Raised in the UP of Michigan he was one of 15 kids and is survived by one brother who presently lives in Oregon.
He was preceded in passing by one son and is survived by three sons, two step sons, one step daughter, and numerous grandkids and great grandkids.
He joined the Army during the Korean War and served in Korean, Japan, and claims to have led a charge over the O Stanley Mountains during that time.
After his time in the war he relocated to Oregon and worked in the logging industry. In 1964 relocated to SoCal and started his career at Whitewater Rock and Supply where he worked until retirement. He was also a masonry contractor in the Pass area supplying quality work and employment opportunities to many in the area.
There will be a memorial service at 11am on Saturday October 17th at Lifepoint Church 565 N. San Gorgonio Ave, Banning California.
