Obituary of Roy Edwin Corral
Roy was a wonderful human being- kind and gentle-hearted, who dearly loved his family and was taken before his time. Born in Worcester Park, England on March 1, 1931, he lived through and was bombed out during WWII, became an engineer and then immigrated to Canada in the early 50's before coming to the United States. He worked in California, which he loved, was drafted into the Navy and then came cross-country and settled in New York. He thought about moving back to California, but then he met Pat in '62 through their shared love of sports cars and all thoughts of leaving NY fled. Roy and Pat married later that year. Over the years they raised two children, bought and renovated homes on Long Island and enjoyed the summers at their summer home in Montauk, where the whole family learned to sail together. After the kids left the nest, Roy and Pat moved down to Maryland and got their real estate licenses in order to sell their town house on the Chester River. A few years later they moved down to Florida to take care of Pat's Mom and built a home on Clearwater Beach. Roy's love for California had never diminished, though, and in '98 they found Sun Lakes and moved to California. They have been selling real estate ever since, always working together. Roy loved life and loved his family. He was kind and even-keeled with everyone he met and thoughtful in all he did. He is survived by his wife, Pat; his children, Cliff and Kim; his grandchildren, Jonah and Hailey; and brother and sister-in-law Myles and Jackie. He will be most sorely missed. No services are being held at this time, however a Memorial is planned for October 24th from 2-5 p.m. in the Lobby side of the Main Ballroom in Sun Lakes Country Club, Banning (off Highland Springs exit south from the 10 to a left on Country Club Drive to the North Gate further down the road on the left past The Lakes).
