Obituary of William Ernest Van Pelt
Early in the morning of March 9, 2015 Bill passed away peacefully at the Jerry L Pettis VA Hospital in Loma Linda with his son Matt by his side, he had just turned 71.
William Ernst VanPelt, Jr. was born on March 7, 1944 to Ernst and Mildred, in Doyle Town, Pennsylvania. He resided in Banning with his wife, Sandy, and their dog Alfie.
Bill’s hobbies included woodworking, gardening, fixing things around the house, and golf cart rides with Sandy and Alfie. He was always there to help neighbors with odds and ends, and was truly adored by all. He loved the annual Father’s Day River Trips with Matt and the boys. Always the gracious host, Bill and Sandy’s parties were always a hit.
Bill proudly served in the United States Air Force, and did a tour in Vietnam, and France where he was a mechanic. He was a true Patriot, and so proud to have served. He alwayparticipate edin the Veterans walk in Sun Lakes Country Club.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Sandra, Son and Daughter-in-Law Matthew and Lindsey VanPelt, and rambunctious Grandson, Corey.
