Obituary of Lina Marie Mann
Lina M. Mann, 89 passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Banning Health Care in Banning, CA. She was born April 18, 1925 in Los Angeles into the loving care of Arthur and Paula Schilling and lived all but 10 years of her life in Cherry Valley. As a young girl and teenager she help pick and sell cherries on their cherry ranch and pack peaches in the summer. Lina was an alumni Beaumont High School and worked as a waitress and secretary before obtaining her CNA certificate in 1974. She was the school nurse at Hoffer Elementary School in Banning working for the school district for over 18 years. After retiring she worked part-time at the Community Services Department for the City of Banning for five year.
Lina was a member of Eastern Star and while living in the Coachella Valley she was an active member of the C.V. Vaqueros and coordinated the Rodeo Queen Committee for several years. Lina also served years. Lina also served as a board member for the Beaumont Center of Spiritual Living.
Lina loved her family and friends and loved all animals. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Howard Schilling, first husband Don Mccoy, second husband Cloyce Mann and her stepdaughter Gladys Burge.
She is survived by her daughters Marian “Mickey” Martin of Diamond Bar, CA, Lynette McCoy Espinoza (Stan Torres) of Cherry Valley, CA, stepchildren Cloyce “Bud” Mann of Palm Desert, CA, Linda Mann of La Quinta, CA, Marsha Clark of Santa Maria, her grandchildren, Jeffrey Espinoza, Paula Espinoza, Iqbal Pittalwala, Chad Martin, Marni Martin, Jim Burge of La Quinta, Dane Burge of La Quinta, Mia Slater of La Quinta and great grandchildren Tori Humphrey, Gavin Bray and Brock Martin.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held February 7, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Beaumont Center for Spiritual Living, 802 Maple Street, Beaumont, CA 92223.
