Obituary of Reverend Fr. Adrian J. Brinn

Reverend Fr. Adrian J. Brinn, 76, passed away on November 22, 2014 at his home in Banning, Ca. He was born in Limerick City, Ireland on December 9, 1937 to Michael Brinn and Imelda McGrath Brinn. He attended schools in Limerick through 1964. He entered the seminary at St. Patrick’s College in Thurles, Ireland and was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest on June 8, 1968. He continued his academic studies in the U.S. and received a B.A. from Pepperdine University in clinical psychology and then an M.A. from the Professional School of Psychological Studies, San Diego in 1988. He became a U.S. citizen in 1976. Reverend Brinn served at parishes in San Diego and throughout the San Bernardino Diocese which includes San Bernardino and Riverside counties. He was also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was known for his delightful sense of humor and Irish playfulness. He was well regarded by his peers and parishioners as a good and faithful priest. Father Adrian is survived by his three sisters, Sylvia McCann, Antoinette McDonald and Margaret Fitzgerald, 10 nieces and nephews and a large extended family in Ireland. He was preceded in death by his parents. His nephew, Niall McCann will represent the Brinn family at services. Visitation will be held on December 8, 2014 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church in Banning. A Liturgy and Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. and eulogies following the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 9, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church in Beaumont. A reception following the mass will be held in the parish hall in Beaumont. Burial will be at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in Colton. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Diocese of San Bernardino’s Priest Relief Fund, 1201 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA 92404.
