Obituary of Gerald Dollarhide
Gerald 'JERRY' Dollarhide joined the Angels in Heaven on August 14, 2007.
He was born in Long Beach, CA April 30, 1929 played high school football and was scouted by the Dodge Pros. Two weeks after graduation joined the Navy only to have the Dodges knock on the door with a contract. Gerald served in the Navy on a fleet oilier as a radar man. He latter became a policeman for the city of Lynwood and served as a Sergeant until a motorcycle accident that made him retire that job. So he became a claims adjuster for AAA and did that for 24 years, also he did security at Jesse Ranch 55 older and the Apple Valley High School. In 2001 moved to Banning and worked yard duty at Central Elementary he also was a volunteer in the class rooms. Gerald's last security job was for Sun Lakes in Banning.
Preceding Gerald in death his parents: Harry and Helen Dollarhide, A loving wife of 29 years Letha Mae Dollarhide and his only brother John Dollarhide.
Jerry is survived by wife of 24 years Arlene Dollarhide, 4 children Debbie & (Bob) Walker, Dennis & (Pattie) Dollarhide, Diana Dollarhide and David Dollarhide and friend Katrina. 4 Step-sons: Art Haack, Tyler & (Teresa) Haack, Mitchel & (Noreen) Haack and Larry & (Jeannette) Hyder. 1 Step-daughter: Debbie Vittum. Sister-in-law: Lillian Dollarhide Crouch. Nephew: Richard & (Esther) Dollarhide and there children Ron & Brenda. Cousins: Rodger Dollarhide and Joann Britton. Grandchildren: Jason, Margaret, Eric, Aimee and Jamie Walker, Danyelle & Steve Spurlock and Meagan and Kristopher Dollarhide. Step-Grandchildren: Christian, Tamara, Ty and Tiffany Haack, Erin & Justin Puttrick, Melanie & Mike Boeck, Jennel & Brain Voss, Lorie Hyder, Natalie & Ben Price and Olivia & Mendie Vittum. Great Grandchildren: Jason, Corey & Devon Walker, Maelyn, Marcus and Macy Boeck, Rachel Voss, Emmalee Puttrick and Landen Majeske. A memorial service will be 2:30 pm Sunday, August 19, 2007 at United Methodist Church 2nd & Williams in Banning. Burial will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 21, 2007 Staging area 5. In lieu of flowers please donate to the VA hospital in Loma Linda.
