Obituary of Raymond Watters

Raymond Watters 1913-2007 Mr. Watters passed away July 6, 2007 just shy of his 94th birthday (July 19) following complications from surgery. He was born in Los Angeles, CA. He attended schools in Los Angeles & North Hollywood and briefly attended college at UCLA before going into the U.S Army Air Force where he served with the motion picture unit in Panama. After his military service he continued in the motion picture business as a lighting gaffer working with the cameraman on many film & TV shows including The Partridge Family and Wonder Woman. After more than 25 years at Universal, Warner Bros & many other studios he joined Lockheed in Sunnyvale, CA., where he was on the camera crew filming their missile development programs. In retirement he spent time in Reno, NV running the El Rey Motel, which he inherited from his parents and later moved to Port Angeles, WA where he enjoyed fishing for salmon, and playing golf at the Peninsula Golf Club. Six years ago he and his wife, Valerie Hall Watters moved to Sun Lakes County Club in Banning, CA., where they became active with the Friendship Club, golf and Bocci-ball league. Ray is survived by and will be missed deeply by his wife, Valerie, his stepdaughter, Terri C. Hall, of Studio City, CA and niece and nephew in Puebla, MX as well as many friends and dear neighbors. He also leaves an empty chair for his Schnauzer "Girls" Holly and Cindy.
