Obituary of Dorothy Hash

According to the Divine Plan of our Heavenly Father, Dorothy Mae Hash went home to be with the Lord on June 22, 2007. She was born August 27, 1934 in Long Branch (Dotson Community), TX to Jesse Sr. and Mae Kelly Fite McGensy. At nine years old, Dorothy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of New Zion Baptist Church. In August 1951, she moved to Indio and then to Banning in 1954. In 1965, Dorothy met Earnest Hash who later became her husband and they moved to Santa Ana. She was a faithful member of First Mission Baptist Church where she served in the Choir and the Pastor's Aide for many years. A few years later God called her to serve at First Baptist of Glen Valley Church in Riverside, CA for a few years before she and Earnest united with Fountain of Life Temple C.O.G.I.C. where they were both active members and Dorothy was a faithful member of Pastor's Aid. In August 2005, Dorothy moved to Bakersfield, CA and joined New Rising Star Church. Those left to celebrate her life are: her two grandchildren, Lonnie (Shawn) Ross of Artesia, CA, and LaMeka (James) Burton of Bakersfield, CA; her sisters: Pearline Shepard of Indio, CA, Wyvorn Thompson of Santa Ana, CA, Goldie Bruner of Banning, CA, and Earnestine McGensy of Long Branch, TX; two brothers-in-law; a special niece, Wilma Allen of San Bernardino; two great-grandchildren; two godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Dorothy was a retiree of Eaton Corporation for twenty seven and a half years. Throughout her life, she was devoted to God and her family and will be greatly missed.
