Obituary of John Rementeria

John A. Rementeria, of the Morongo Indian Reservation passed away Friday, June 22, 2007 at Loma Linda Medical Center after a lengthy illness and courageous fight. He was born on August 12, 1939 in Los Angeles, CA to Alice Mary and John Rementeria, who precede him in death. He is also preceding in death by his grandmother, Agnes Nanny Waite Mills, his aunt Dorothy Fahey and his uncle Bion Mills. He will be sadly missed by his family, his son, Scott of San Antonio TX, a sister, Veronica (Terry) Lane of Palm Desert CA, a brother, Donald (Barb) of Granite Bay CA, a special niece, Shari Wrona of Saginaw MI and many other nieces and nephews. After serving in the US Army, JR pursued a college education, attending Orange Coast College, California State/Long Beach, and Trinity University in London, England where he received a Masters Degree in Science. While teaching at ITT and DeVry Institute, he continued to attend classes to keep up with the latest technology. He was INTO computers BEFORE computers were IN. He loved to travel the world by air, land and sea (Antarctica, Hong Kong, Denmark, Germany, Turkey & many more), making others laugh, collecting & driving fast cars, shopping at Costco and listening to great music. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, June 26th at Wiefels Funeral Home in Banning between 4pm " 8pm. The funeral service will also be held there on Wednesday, June 27th at 11:00am with burial to follow.
