I was just a little baby when Aunt Fran use to visit my brother Timmy and I when Mom and Daddy lived in Southern California. She was only ten years old so she use to play with us.
My husband Michael, a few of the younger children and I drove to visit Aunt Fran and the other relatives a few times over the last couple of years. I think I will miss Aunt Fran's big smile and sweet personality. My eleven year old daughter said that Aunt Fran made her laugh (and gave her candy) and she will miss her too. I talked to her on the phone a couple of weeks before she passed away.
She said she was thinking about the Bible verses she learned when she was a child and that she was ready to meet Jesus in Heaven when she died. She wasn't afraid to die, but said she would miss Uncle Bob because he was so good to her. I think of the old hymn that says "This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through
My treasures are laid up for me somewhere beyond the blue
The angels beckon me from heavens open door
And I can't feel at home in this world any more.
My savior pardoned me from guilt and shame I know
I'll trust His saving grace while I'm traveling here below
I know He'll welcome me up at heaven's door
I just don't feel at home in this world anymore
The saints in glory land they are shouting victory
I want to join there band and to live eternally."
We will miss Aunt Fran on this earth, but will look forward to seeing her beautiful smile again when we reach the other side~Patricia and Michael Gent and Family
