Obituary of Charles Luciano
Charles G. Luciano, 82, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at his Sun Lakes, Banning home on 4/1/2012. Charles was born to his parents Frank and Rose Luciano in Los Angeles, CA on 12/19/1929. He met and married his wife, Barbara, at the LDS church of La Mirada, CA. He went to the Wilson High School where he set track records in 100yd dash the 220 yd dash and part of the 4x4 relay team. He received a scholarship to Redlands University Little All American. He was later drafted to the Cleveland Browns. He was the 1st football Coach at Rim of the World High School in Lake Arrowhead from 1957-1958. After receiving his Master's in Child Psychology he was head of the district's Child Psychology Depts., Guidance & Counseling. Charles became Principal of Crest Forest & Valley of Enchantment Schools. When Mary Putman Henck School was built he was the 1st Principal. He next was Asst. Superintendant and then became the Superintendant. When he retired, Rim of the World was the 3rd richest school district in Calif., next to Beverly Hills & Newport. He retired to his passion, golf. Charles was absolutely was the best husband, father, and grandfather possible. He will be waiting for us at the next tee.
Charles is survived by his wonderful wife of 42 years, Barbara of Banning, CA; sons, Larry Luciano of Lake Arrowhead, CA, Steven Victor of Los Angeles, CA; daughters, Denise (Curt) Wells of Chino Valley, AZ, Sherry Rowley of Sandy, UT; brother, George (Jacqui) Luciano; 16 grandchildren and19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rose Luciano.
The family would like to thank, San Gorgonio, Cherry Valley, VNAIC Hospice of Banning, Ruden & Dickie, Double C, excellent caring of Charles as well as all the Doctor's.
Graveside Service will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, CA on 4/6/2012 at 11:00 a.m., with a Celebration of life to follow at Sun Lakes South Clubhouse, Banning, CA from 3 p.m.- 5 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Wiefels & Son, Banning, CA.
