Condolences
I was looking up Roland's name to see what he was up to and was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I met Roland in Las Cruces, NM when I was playing in an Oldies but Goodies Band, and he asked to come up on stage to play. Of course he could, and really rocked the house. My condolences to his family.

Roland and I were classmates at St John The Evangelist School class of 1965. I remember him well. He was both an athelte and a student of music. His kindness in his later years was bot a tribute to the education he received while at St. John's and his intermost spirit. His classmates will remember him. He will always be a member of the Class of 1965. Res in Peace my friend. Karl
I was very sorry to hear of Roland's passing. I had not seen him for many years but I have many happy memories from the time we worked together with the Crusaders. Sincere condolences to the family.
My sincere condolences for your loss. I have been a fan of Roland's music & playing for a few years now, and had been searching for a while to see what he was doing these days, without success unfortunately. To hear of his passing has left me very sad, but his music will live on in me and whomever I meet. I will never forget the time I was staying with a friend in Sweden, when one day we went into the communal storage area for the apartments where he lived, and to my total amazement and sheer joy, there was a pristine copy of his debut album 'Bautista' just sat next to a recycling bin! I grabbed it knowing that whoever left that behind truly had no idea of the musical wealth that lay within the grooves of that record. RIP Roland.
Roland & I were in the same concert hall in february 1982 when I had 4th row seats to see Earth, Wind & Fire on their "Raise" tour. Then in the late 90s when I lived in Hemet, we met in person and I got see him play once again :-) So sad he is gone... but he lives on in the music!
Roland played with me, when he was only 16yrs old, I asked permission of his mother, and she trusted me because I was a Deputy Sheriff, he called me Sargent Foster, and we remained friends throughout the years, I spoke to him a couple months ago, when called me and told me he was working on his autobiography. I told him that I wanted him to be a guest soloist on a project I was working on, and he told me he would visit my home and lay some tracks, we never got to meet, he was a friend and I could always count on him to have my back, I'm gonna miss him.
I had the unique privilege of working with Roland during the 1980's as a member of C4 with Jerry Salas. Roland and Jerry were great friends, and as a friend of Jerry's I received the ultimate gift, in being around and working with these two great human beings. Rolands positive approach to life encouraged and inspired me. His talents were unsurpassed and as a human being and a friend, he will be greatly missed. I enjoyed playing tennis with Ro, and as with his other talents he was supremely gifted. We searched for Roland and tried to contact him for many years after his stay in Las Vegas but couldn't seem to get in touch. I know his Music as well as his favorite pass time Golf brought him much Joy. Rest peacefully Roland, where the Heavenly green fairways play the Music of the Spheres for you now. Bless You forever as you will always be missed!
Words seem inadequate to express the sadness I feel about Roland’s passing. RIP my dear friend. Love you,
My daughter and I started guitar lessons about six months ago with you and I cant tell you how lucky we felt to find you. You were always so patient with my daughter and she loved you dearly as did I. We left a box of chocolates by your door on Valentine's day. I wish that we could have seen you one more time. God bless you Roland.
Love You, Roland, Rest in Peace, You've joined the Heavenly Band, so Keep on Plucking Your Way Through Eternity. You will truly be missed, but your memory will live on. Thanks for all the fun we shared, on and off Stage. My heartfelt condolences to the Family, and may you find strength and comfort in knowing that Roland was truly loved by all. He touched our hearts and lives abundantly. Let your faith guide you through this difficult time. Musically Yours, Beloyd
